UPDATE: 7/23/25 @ 8:32 am: Valerie Hedquist has been located and is safe.

Police in Portage County are seeking help in finding a missing 58-year-old Plover woman.

The Wisconsin Crime Alert Network issued an alert this morning stating that Valerie Rae Hedquist left a memory care facility on Maple Drive on foot on Tuesday. She has frontal lobe dementia.

The release says she is very fit and active. She lived in Rosholt before moving to Plover.

Hedquist was described as a white female, 5 feet tall, weighing 105 pounds, with blond, shoulder-length, wavy hair and blue eyes. She may be wearing a baseball hat and has a cross-body purse.

Residents with information about Hedquist are asked to contact Officer Andrew Kyle with the Plover Police Department at 715-346-1400.
