RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) – The Racine Raiders will observe a moment of silence before Saturday’s home game at Horlick Field to honor longtime team legend Ron Hart, who passed away earlier this week.

Hart, whose number 75 was retired by the Raiders, played for the team from 1962 to 1975 and was selected to all-league honors 12 times. After his playing career, he coached with the Raiders from 1979 to 1981 and served on the board of directors from 2002 to 2022. He is a member of the Racine Raiders Hall of Fame, American Football Association Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame and the United States Football Association Hall of Fame.

Beyond football, Hart also served as an Alderman in the city of Racine for 22 years.

The Raiders community is asking the public to keep Hart’s family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.
