MILWAUKEE, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – In recognition of Pride month, Mayor Cavalier Johnson raised the Pride flag at Milwaukee’s City Hall on Monday.

Mayor Johnson celebrated the flag raising on social media, where he commented on the importance of Milwaukee’s LGBTQ+ community.

This morning we raised the Pride flag at City Hall to kick off #PrideMonth in Milwaukee.

To our LGBTQ+ neighbors: you matter, you belong, and this city is better because of you.

The ceremony precedes the city’s Pridefest, which begins Thursday, June 5 at the Summerfest grounds and ends with a Pride parade on Sunday, June 8.
