GREEN BAY, Wis (WGBW) – The largest graduating class from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB) will receive their degrees in two ceremonies Saturday, May 17.

According to a press release from UWGB, 1,338 eligible graduates will get their degrees. Many of them plan to stay in the area. “We know that more than 70% of our graduates stay in the region,” said UW-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander. “The 1,338 students who will earn their degree this weekend will impact the workforce in amazing ways, through tenacity, critical thinking and a strong desire to ensure the communities that they live and work within are thriving.”

The two ceremonies will take place at the Kress Events Center on the UWGB campus at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17th.

UWGB Class of 2025 Highlights

In addition to hosting the largest class of graduating students, UW-Green Bay continues to break down barriers to education.

  • UW-Green Bay will celebrate its largest class of Rising Phoenix graduates. More than 150 students from state-wide high schools will earn their associate degree before they graduate from high school later this month.
  • Close to 50 percent of Saturday’s graduates are considered First Generation students, meaning they are the first in their family to earn their degree
  • 25 percent of the Spring 2025 graduating class are transfer students.
  • The master’s in Public Administration program will celebrate its first graduates.
  • Members of the first class earning a master’s in Biodiversity and Conservation Management program will graduate.

The ceremonies will honor graduates and celebrate with families from all four of UW-Green Bay’s campuses (Green Bay, Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan), awarding degrees in high-demand areas such as nursing, education, business and environmental sciences.

Morning ceremony (9:30 a.m.)

  • College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
  • All associate’s degrees from all four campuses, including the Rising Phoenix program

Afternoon ceremony (2 p.m.)

  • Austin E. Cofrin School of Business
  • College of Health, Education & Social Welfare
  • College of Science, Engineering & Technology
