The Richland Center softball team picked up a conference win 5-0 over visiting River Vally on Tuesday night.

The Hornets never trailed in the game after an rbi single by Maddy McGlynn in the first inning. They would put 4 more runs on the board in the 4th. Jaycee Gander hit an rbi double, Tatum Reyzek doubled in 2 runs, and Ava Martin hit an rbi single. Freshman pitcher Kyree Fisher pitched an impressive game with 16 strike outs, 1 walk, and 4 hits given up. Fisher and McGlynn both had two hits.

For River Valley, Bella DaViney, Leah Makarowski, Makenzie Woodhouse, and Tessa Schluter all had hits. Tessa Schluter suffered the pitching loss after giving up 8 hornet hits.Richland Centers last Varsity softball win against River Valley was on May 8th, of 2012 when the Hornets won 5-1.

The Hornets are now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the league after the 5-0 win. They will face Prairie du Chein on Thursday night at home.

River Valley is now 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the league. They will travel to Platteville on Thursday night.
