WESTBY, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – A Richland Center man was injured in a crash in Vernon County. Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports that at approximately 4:45 Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of a single-vehicle rollover on County Road D, east of Hall Road, in rural Westby.

Ralph E. Smalley, 62 of Richland Center, was traveling west on County Road D when he experienced a suspected medical episode.  The vehicle left the roadway on a curve, traveled down an embankment, struck trees, overturned, and came to rest on its roof. Smalley was able to exit the vehicle on his own and was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare, in Viroqua by La Farge Area Ambulance.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the La Farge Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
