MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WAUK) – Milwaukee experienced “historic turnout” during Tuesday’s spring election, leading to ballot shortages at seven polling sites across the city.

The Milwaukee Elections Commission confirmed that additional ballots were delivered to affected locations before polls closed at 8 p.m., ensuring all voters in line were able to cast their votes.

City of Milwaukee Contests

In the race for Alderperson District 3, Alex Brower defeated Daniel Bauman with 57% of the vote (5,747 votes) to Bauman’s 42.19% (4,254 votes).

For Milwaukee Public Schools Board – District 7, Kate Vannoy narrowly defeated Molly Kuether-Steele with 51.39% (5,299 votes) to Kuether-Steele’s 47.38% (4,886 votes).

Milwaukee County Results

Voters in Milwaukee County preferred Susan Crawford, she was leading decisively in the county over Brad Schimel with 73% of the vote.

Milwaukee County voters barely said “Yes” to the voter ID question, with results locally at almost 51%-49%.

Wauwatosa School District Referendum

The Wauwatosa School District referendum passed narrowly with 51.68% voting “Yes” (6,606 votes) and 48.32% voting “No” (6,177 votes).

Final results remain unofficial until canvassing is completed.
