MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WAUK) – The Milwaukee Health Department is offering free lead screening clinics in response to recent lead concerns in Milwaukee Public Schools buildings.

A pop-up clinic will be held Wednesday at Sixteenth Street’s Chavez Clinic from 4 to 6 p.m. Starting Thursday, Children’s Wisconsin Next Door Clinic will provide walk-in screenings every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Three Milwaukee Public Schools — Starms Early Childhood Education Center, Fernwood Montessori School, and LaFollette School — closed Monday for lead remediation.

All services are free, regardless of insurance status.
