River Ridge won 57-31 against Riverdale in area girls basketball Tuesday night. The visiting Timberwolves led 27-18 at halftime.  The Chieftains got within 8 (29-21) in the early second half, before Ridge pulled away by connecting on shots from beyond the arc. 

Melissa Sletton scored 16 of her 19 points in the 2nd half including 3 treys.  Erin Adrian controlled the inside and dropped in 14 for the Timberwolves.  As a team they shot 8 for 17 from the free throw line.

Riverdales’ Macy McCay had 10 points, Zuri Dennis added 8,  Lily Barr scored 4, Kennedy Couey and Allie Goplin both had 3, Ava Kratzenberg had 2 points, and Haley Schneider added 1 point.  The Chieftains made 4 three pointers and went 11 for 22 from the line.

Riverdale won the jv game 37-36 over River Ridge.

Following the 57-31 win, River Ridge is now 15-7 on the season. They will host Belmont on Thursday.  Riverdale’s season record dipped to 12-11.  They will host Southwestern on Thursday night.
