GREEN BAY, WI- (WGBW) – Over the next two weeks, Brown County and the Port of Green Bay will meet with the 8 interested respondents to a Request for Information (RFI). The Port asked for RFIs on possible partnerships with the county for future development at the former Pulliam Plant Site.

Brown County purchased the Pulliam Plant Site in 2022. The Port of Green Bay intends to construct a new multi-use Port terminal facility on General Industrial zoned 37.5 acres. The area could be divided into several sections to maximize available funding. It would also provide development options for one or more users.

“We’re excited about the level of interest in discussing what the future of the site at the mouth of the Fox River could look like,” says Dean Haen, Port of Green Bay Director. “These discussions will center around supporting job creation, economic development, and moving cargo to support industries statewide.”

One of the parties who responded to the Port of Green Bay with an RFI was C. Reiss, who, along with the City of Green Bay, would like to relocate the massive coal piles from downtown to the Pulliam Site. Doing so would free up the waterfront property for redevelopment more consistent with the downtown area.
