OSHKOSH, WI- (WISS) – Members of the Oshkosh Common Council are coming together to host office-hours-type discussions about tax bills and more in the City of Oshkosh.

A press release says councilors are making themselves available to talk with residents about the recent tax increases associated with the City of Oshkosh. They will explain the variables that went into the increase and offer information.

Oshkosh Common Council Members Paul Esslinger, Jacob Floam, and Kris Larson will meet with residents at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 17th, at Becket’s restaurant. Later that day, Larson and Council member Jacob Floam will meet with residents at 6:00 pm at Becket’s

“The 2025 cycle did present a few new factors into the equation, which did lead to large increases for many properties,” the press release said. “These councilors have found that these subjects are best discussed with folks in person, with as much time as needed, and are excited to meet with folks to explain further, listen to concerns, and discuss ways to further understanding in the future.”

The meetings will be used to discuss all pertinent issues surrounding the City of Oshkosh tax bill. However, the press release emphasized that discussing lowering the tax bill or assessing a home or business is not on the table. Discussions on those topics will be taken up in the fall of 2025.

People who would like to attend should RSVP on the event notifications on either Larson’s or Floam’s Facebook pages.
