CALEDONIA, Wis. — A Caledonia cop that brought someone back to life has been honored.

Officer Andrew Gelden of the Caledonia Police Department was recognized by Ascension Healthcare for his lifesaving actions on Jan. 5. Officer Gelden reportedly performed CPR on a patient who was pulseless and not breathing, helping them to breath again.

The Caledonia Fire Department showed up to releive him, and the patient was taken to Ascension. They have since made a full recovery.

Officer Gelden will receive additional recognition at a police department’s awards ceremony in April.

This is not his first notable community interaction; Officer Gelden also handled a strange situation involving a beaver in a village neighborhood about a decade ago.
