OAK CREEK, Wis. (Civic Media) — Master Lock, a company founded in Wisconsin in 1921, is leaving the state entirely as its parent company consolidates operations in Illinois.

Fortune Brands Innovations announced this week the closure of Master Lock‘s Oak Creek headquarters, affecting about 120 employees. It follows the shutdown of Master Lock’s Milwaukee manufacturing facility in 2023, which resulted in 330 job losses.

Employees at the Oak Creek office are being told they can head to work at the new Deerfield headquarters, about 60 miles south down I-94.

The company expects the Deerfield campus to have over 1,000 jobs by the end of 2027. The Oak Creek office will close between July and September 2025.
