RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – Riverdale won a nail biter 53-51 over Boscobel in girls basketball last night in Muscoda. The Chieftains led 24-20 at halftime and both teams shared leads in the 2nd half. Boscobel was up by 6 points midway through the 2nd half before Riverdale came back to take the lead for good and eventually hold off the Bulldogs in the end.
Macy Mckay led Riverdale with 19 points (13 from the free throw line), Zuri Dennis added 14 points (including 6 for 6 from the line), Kennedy Couey scored 11, Bailey Harris added 4, Allie Goplin had a three pointer, Lily Barr had 2. The Chieftains were 26 for 38 from the free throw line.
Boscobel was paced by Kylee Johnson with 15, Aubrey Seep totaled 14, Maya Baumeister scored 8, Kenna Wallin put in 4 points, Avery Updike hit a 3 pointer, and Izzy Childs had 2 points. The Bulldogs made 8 three point baskets and went 7 for 12 from the line.
Riverdale won the JV game 61-25 over Boscobel in the early contest.
The Chieftain Varsity is now 8-3 on the season and 3-3 in the SWAL. They will play at Southwestern on Friday night. Boscobel is 0-6 in the league and 2-7 overall. They will play Iowa Grant Friday.
