RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) — The gifts are open, the returns are happening, and the the City of Racine is helping with the Christmas cleanup. As is tradition, Racine will conduct their annual Christmas tree collection program, it’ll run from January 6 to January 17.

People are told to place bare trees at the curb on their scheduled solid waste collection day, making sure that all decorations and lights are removed. Those whose waste is collected from an alley should place their trees at the front curb.

The program does not include artificial trees or other decorative greenery, which should be disposed of with regular solid waste. After the January 17 deadline, residents can drop off Christmas trees free of charge at the Pearl Street facility.
