OSHKOSH, WI- (WISS) – The City of Oshkosh has selected its new City Administrator. A press release announced that Rebecca Grill will be the new city manager.

As city manager, Grill will act as the chief executive and administrative officer for the City of Oshkosh. She replaces current City Administrator Mark Rohloff who is retiring on January 3, 2025, after 16 years of service to the city.

For the last nine years, Grill has been the City Administrator/City Clerk for West Allis, Wisconsin. She brings approximately 20 years of municipal leadership experience to Oshkosh. She has political science and criminal justice degrees and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Concordia University. Grill is also a Credentialed Manager – International City/County Management Association (ICMA-CM) and is a University of Wisconsin Madison Certified Public Manager.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rebecca Grill to the city of Oshkosh. We are excited to have someone with her ability to step into this important role,” commented Mayor Matt Mugerauer. “Rebecca’s extensive background in local government, community engagement and strategic leadership abilities make her an exemplary choice to navigate the opportunities we face. We are confident that Ms. Grill will lead our city with vision and dedication, and we look forward to Oshkosh’s continued success under her leadership.”

Grill is excited by her new position as Oshkosh’s next City Manager. “Oshkosh is an incredible city with a strong sense of community, a vibrant downtown, beautiful natural amenities, and a proud history,” Grill said. “I am truly honored to be considered for this role. If approved, I look forward to collaborating with the Council, city staff, and residents to build on the city’s progress and serve the community with dedication and integrity.”

Grill was one of four finalists for the job. The Common Council still has to formally approve Grill as City Manager. It will do that at a special meeting, Monday, December 23rd at Noon.

Grill’s first day as Oshkosh City Administrator will be February 24th, 2025.
