The Richland Center boys basketball won a road game at Wisconsin Heights on Monday night. The Hornets improved to 2-2 on the season with a 50-42 win. Trailing 12-11 in the first half, the visitors took a lead of 29-22 at intermission and built it up to 17 before the
Vangards whittled the deficit to 8 points at the final horn.

Liam Fingerson led the Hornets with 16, Wes Bosworth added 11, Jayden Schoepp scored 10 (including both of the teams 3 pointers), Kyzan Schwichtenberg and Garrison Weiss each had 4, Brady Dosch had 3, and Treyton Schoepp scored 2 points. The Hornets again struggled at the free throw line as they made 6 of 12 shots.

Wisconsin Heights was led in scoring by Mike Fancscali with 17 including 2 three pointers, Reed Adler had 8. The team was 6 for 9 from the line. The Vangards fell to 0-2 on the young season.

The Vangards JV one team beat the Hornets 44-40 in the early game.

Following the 50-42 Varsity win, Richland Center will practice this week for the SWC opener at Platteville on Friday night. Wisconsin Heights will host St. Ambrose Academy tonight for its next game.
