RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) – Businessman Ralph Malicki and County Clerk Wendy Christensen are the finalists in Thursday’s primary for Racine County Executive, a special election prompted by the unexpected death of Jonathan Delagrave in June.

Malicki secured a good chunk of the vote, getting over 51% of the approximately 11,000 votes cast. Christensen finished second, narrowly edging out Melvin Hargrove and Lorenzo Santos.

Unofficial results:

Malicki: 5,720 votes
Christensen: 1,905 votes
Hargrove: 1,850 votes
Santos: 1,643 votes

The Board of Canvass will finalize results on November 25. The special election is scheduled for December 19. That will determine who will complete Delagrave’s term.
