GREEN BAY, WI- (WGBW) – US News and World Report released its ranking of the 150 best places in the United States to retire. The listing ranks Green Bay 11th, up from its 2024 position of 16th.
The magazine released its ranking Monday.
“The 2025 Best Places to Retire rankings reflect top cities across the country that best meet retiree needs and desires,” said Dawn Bradbury, real estate assistant managing editor for U.S. News, in a press release. “What we found this year is retirees seek a destination that will not only stretch their dollar but is also a place for enjoyment. This is why the Midwest and South dominate the top 25.”
The scoring factors for the rankings included the happiness of the residents, housing affordability, tax rates, and healthcare quality. US News also considered desirability and the job market while ranking cities.
Naples, Florida appeared at the top of the list, followed by Virginia Beach, Virginia, and New York City.
Other Wisconsin cities to appear on the list are Madison, holding steady from last year at 37th, and Milwaukee, which dropped from 64th to 123rd.
