How the Good News Project Provides Hope in the Little Things

Time is a precious thing. And time spent helping someone in need or a community coming together to share kindness and hope in the little things is what makes time so valuable. It’s also what the Good News Project is all about and Christine Daniels joined Chad Holmes, host of The Chad Holmes Show, to discuss special moments forming the heartbeat of her work. She shares an interaction about the Health Equipment Lending Program (HELP). The goal is to lend medical equipment to those who need it.   

“A gentleman came in looking for equipment to help his wife remain at home. When I asked if it would help her stay independent, he paused and simply said, ‘Hopefully.’ That single word reminds me of the unspoken hopes that fuel the Good News Project’s work,” Daniels explains.

Her commitment to hope and kindness continues even during her morning walk. 

“I introduced my dog, Boone, to a new neighbor. He’s a former Walmart greeter and proudly showed me a picture of himself in his uniform,” Daniels says. “And he shared comments from people who appreciated his kindness. It was a quick encounter, but I felt uplifted by the power of kindness you can share between strangers.”  

And beyond building on personal connections, the Good News Project continues to earn attention. It recently earned the Wisconsin DNR’s 2024 Recycling Excellence Award for an ongoing commitment to responsible recycling. It’s a reminder that change often begins with consistent, small actions.

Daniels also invites the community to stop by the Good News Project for World Kindness Day, Wednesday, November 13. You are welcome to take a tour, share a story, or drop off any electronics to be recycled.

“It’s a small step,” she says, “but even little things can bring people together.”
