MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) — There are plenty of ways to get to the polls if you need an assist. Multiple organizations in Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha are offering free rides to polling stations on Election Day, aiming to increase voter turnout and accessibility.
Souls to the Polls, a non-profit organization, plans to transport voters directly from their homes to voting locations. The group says over 300 volunteers have signed up for their Rides to the Polls program. The service is open to people in Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha.
In Racine, there’s also a free ride offer from the Racine Interfaith Coalition. Kenosha residents can call a group called Leaders of Kenosha for a free ride.
Lime, the e-scooter company in Milwaukee, is providing two free rides to or from polling places with the code “VOTE2024” in their app.
Bublr Bikes is offering free 30-minute rides on Election Day, sponsored by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
Wisconsin polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
