MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) — The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties, effective through Wednesday morning.

The advisory warns of life-threatening waves ranging from 4 to 8 feet and dangerous currents, creating hazardous swimming conditions due to high waves and onshore winds.

People are urged to stay out of the water and avoid dangerous areas such as piers and breakwalls, as strong structural and longshore currents are expected, with rip currents also being a possibility.

The Beach Hazards Statement was initially issued early Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the warning to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
