RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) — Racine’s 88th annual Fourth of July parade is set for Thursday, featuring more than 100 participants in a patriotic display organized by the 4th Fest of Greater Racine.

The celebration kicks off with a pre-parade at 8:30 a.m., showcasing police cars, fire engines, military vehicles, and classic cars.

The main parade steps off at 9 a.m., winding its way along a 2.6-mile route down Main Street, starting at Goold Street and moving south up 14th Street.

This year’s parade boasts a diverse lineup of marching bands, floats, performers, and community organizations. A new addition to the festivities is a large inflatable American flag balloon. Spectators are advised to keep an eye on the sky for a military flyover scheduled during the parade.

The parade is expected to draw over 60,000 attendees, continuing its tradition as a major regional attraction.

Organizers remind the public that streets along the parade route will begin closing at 7 a.m., with full closure by 8 a.m. Eager parade-goers can claim their viewing spots as early as 5 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

The day’s celebrations will culminate with a fireworks display at North Beach after sunset.

Those unable to attend in person can watch the parade live on Channel 24 or via livestream on the My24 website.
