Chippewa Falls Market on River Project Receives Large Donation
A downtown Chippewa Falls development has received a huge gift from the Royal Credit Union Foundation as construction nears its completion.
According to a press release, the Royal Credit Union Foundation made a $150,000 gift to the Wisconsin Farmers Union Foundation to support the development of the Market on River project. Their donation will go towards the community meeting space and technical equipment to provide a high-quality experience for the community.
Construction on the Chippewa Falls development is expected to be completed in the next few months and a fall opening is planned. According to a Volume One report, the W. River Street building will feature an event space, dining and retail options, and residential apartments when finished.
The first floor will host a Food Hall featuring a number of local vendors and space for retail vendors. As part of their partnership, businesses who operate in the space will also be Wisconsin Farmers Union members and must purchase a portion of their ingredients and materials from Wisconsin farms.
The second floor will feature the event space which can be customized to fit the needs of the event its hosting, as well as office space for the state headquarters of the Wisconsin Farmers Union. The event space will feature much of the technical equipment that the Royal Credit Union Foundation’s gift is targeted towards.
The third floor will feature nine apartments ranging in size up to 1,500 square feet. Each apartment will be equipped with brand new amenities like laundry appliances and an HVAC system, and the organization is already in the process of leasing out apartments for October move-in dates.
Officials say the project cost about $9 million in total, and hope it will become the new hub for local events in Chippewa Falls.
