Waukesha’s Buchner, Horeb Pools Open for Summer Season

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WAUK) – The Buchner Park Community Pool and award-winning Horeb Springs Aquatic Center in Waukesha are open. The two municipal pools offer a lot of ways to beat the heat, from lap swimming to water slides.

The season at both pools runs through late August. Passes are available for Waukesha residents and non-residents.

The pools will shut down if the air temperature falls below 68 degrees Fahrenheit or if the water temperature drops under 65 degrees, though the water is heated to 81 degrees. Closures are at the discretion of pool staff based on weather, attendance or other circumstances. No refunds will be given for weather-related closures.

Buchner Park Community Pool

The Buchner Park pool, located at 223 Oakland Ave., will be open Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It features an open swim area with a 50-meter pool, volleyball and basketball areas, a 1-meter diving board and shade structures. A children’s pool includes a zero-depth entry, spray features and a small slide.

Swim lessons are offered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Members can access lap swim and a fitness channel from 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Horeb Springs Aquatic Center

Located at 330 Spring St., the Horeb Springs pool will be open Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. It’s open Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

It offers an open swim area with 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards, a children’s pool with zero-depth entry and spray features, and two 350-foot water slides available with a pass or daily fee.

Swim lessons run from 10 a.m. to noon and 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A family swim time on Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon allows small toys and inflatables.
