RACINE COUNTY, Wis (WRJN) – If your family gets free or reduced meals through school, you can get a break on passes for a Racine County waterpark. It’s called a Scholarship Program for the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center. The program aims to make the park more accessible to families in the community by reducing the cost of entry.  It offers substantial discounts on various pass options to eligible residents, including a 50 percent discount on 5-day passes, 10-day passes, and seasonal membership passes. Applications are being accepted online and via email on a first-come, first-served basis

The program is possible due to a $5,000 donation from SC Johnson.

“Our primary goal at the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center is to provide a fun and safe experience, with the safety of our guests as our highest priority,” said County Executive Jonathan Delagrave. “We are committed to ensuring that all community members have the opportunity to participate in safe summer fun, regardless of income.”

The Scholarship Program is open to all Racine County families and individuals who qualify for free or reduced-price meals, as indicated by the approved 2023-24 Alternative Household Income & Sharing Information with Other Programs form. Attendees of a Water Safety Swim session will enjoy a 75 percent discount.

Interested parties are encouraged to apply promptly, as scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Comprehensive information regarding eligibility, required documentation, and application procedures can be found at RacineCounty.com/SCJAquatic.

To apply for a scholarship, individuals can either visit the website and fill out the online form or send completed applications to rec.scholarships@racinecounty.com. Applicants will need to provide proof of eligibility, proof of address, and a photo ID.

According to a statement, the SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center, in Racine, offers state-of-the-art aquatic facilities that serve as a hub of summer activity, providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
