First Lady Jill Biden is set to visit Wisconsin this weekend, with a focus on political engagements in the state. Her itinerary includes a visit to Waukesha, where she is scheduled to arrive at Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport around 1 p.m. on Sunday. Following her arrival, Biden will proceed to a political event in Waukesha at 2 p.m., where she is expected to address the public. The exact location of the event has not been disclosed by the White House.

This upcoming visit marks another instance of First Lady Jill Biden’s active engagement in Wisconsin. Just two weeks ago, she made a stop in Green Bay to discuss education initiatives, emphasizing efforts to expand career-connected learning in high schools and colleges. Her previous visits to the state have focused on various issues, including promoting cancer screenings, youth apprenticeships, and economic growth.

The First Lady’s visit coincides with a period of heightened political activity in Wisconsin, as recent polling data indicates a close race between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden among registered voters. According to the Marquette Law School Poll conducted in February 2024, Trump leads with 51% of likely voters’ support, while Biden follows closely with 48%. Among registered voters, Trump holds 41% compared to Biden’s 39%. Independent candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Jill Stein are also part of another ballot question, with Trump receiving 42% and Biden 39%.
Additionally, the Emerson College Polling/The Hill Survey conducted in February 2024 shows Trump leading Biden by a small margin of 45% to 42%, with 12% undecided. When considering third-party candidates, Trump received 41%, Biden had 37%, and independent voters in Wisconsin favored President Biden over Trump by a margin of 41% to 35%. These polling numbers underscore the competitive nature of the upcoming election in Wisconsin.

Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit Madison next week to highlight the Biden administration’s efforts to promote union job growth and apprenticeship programs. This visit marks her sixth trip to the state since taking office and her second visit this year.
