Wisconsin Rapids, WI (WFHR/WIRI)

Aired October 4th, 2023

Joseph Moyer 2023 Assumption High School Graduate

The family of Joseph Moyer shared their son’s achievement of becoming a United States Marine on Wednesday, October 4th. Alexis and Doug Walton are the proud parents of 2023 Assumption graduate Joseph Moyer. He, and his fellow Marines in Platoon 3203, completed the fifty-four hour Crucible and the culminating treacherous nine mile trek up the Reaper to receive their hard earned Eagle Globe and Anchor and the title of United States Marines.

Recruit Training to become a Marine is rigorous and demanding. The path to become a Marine is intentionally challenging. The process forces recruits to battle and overcome their own weaknesses to one day stand among those who will keep our Nation strong.

Joseph Moyer’s parents said he is a true young American patriot whose love and belief in this country galvanized his decision to serve. Thank you to these newly titled Marines for their service to our country.
