House calls are again a real option for many Wisconsin residents as Middleton-based Pivotal Health expands its services into northeast Wisconsin.
Pivotal Health currently offers house calls in the greater Madison area and recently extended its service options to Milwaukee. Those with Pivotal Health say they are already looking at La Crosse for its continuing growth while announcing the expansion to Green Bay today.
Patients will be able to schedule house calls for their preferred time and location, whether at home, work, or school. Services range from treatment for illnesses and infections to injuries and mental health care.
One study, from Landmark Health, shows the number of doctors making house calls is slowly increasing in recent years after a major decline 50 years prior. It suggests one of the reasons for the return of house calls may be due to America’s elderly population which is growing at a rapid pace.
A Pivotal Health news release indicates its house call services will be covered by most major health insurance plans, including Prevea360, Network Health, WPS, UnitedHealthcare, BlueCross BlueShield, Humana, Cigna, Aetna, and The Alliance. Pivotal Health is also Medicare-certified, providing broad coverage options for patients.
Pivotal Health’s expansion to northeast Wisconsin includes a partnership with Green Bay-based Prevea Health. It will provide participating Prevea Corporate Health and Wellness users access to Pivotal’s house call services.
