Throughout the hour Brandi explores who Dr. Amos Wilson was. The African American psychologist studied the falsification of black consciousness. Brandi also talks about white fragility and Assata Shakur, a black activist who was part of the Black Panther movement. Shakur was best known for being part of the Black Liberation Army. She recently died in Cuba, where she was in exile after escaping from the United States where she had been jailed while she was pregnant.

Running for Office as a Black Woman

While the staff themselves may be doing their best, it can still fail Black children when all of those staff are white, and don't understand the dynamics of Black families.
